"Denmark’s new generation! The sound of Girls in Aiports’s Migration seems to ring out from the space between reality and dreams, like looking at a grainy photograph.

This is the second album from ‘Girls in Airports’, a Danish group of five up-and-coming musicians.

The group uses horizontal lines from the two tenor saxes, a dazzling echo from the Fender Rhodes piano and different kinds of percussion to great effect, to give you the euphoric feeling of watching a dizzying film unfolding scene by scene.

You can hear Scandinavia plus Africa, and depending on the scene, even a little scattering of somewhat Middle Eastern melodies.

With its mysterious sound, like a melted blend of organic and natural Scandinavian taste, a near-futuristic world, and ethnic – or rather folk – elements, perhaps it’s best described as the perfect hybrid sound of contemporary jazz. Great!

Like looking into the sun or at a grainy photograph, the sound seems to ring out from the space between reality and dreams.

Definitely recommended for anyone looking for a new sound, but, surprisingly, also something that traditional jazz fans would be happy to listen to."

We are releasing our second album 'Migration'. The release party will be held in Copenhagen the 24th of October: Huset i Magstræde 3. sal. Kl 20 (entre 20 kr.)
